That is, until he does what he said he's going to do -- which is ask our European allies to carry more of the load.

"Hey, Nicolas, old buddy, how's about running more French combat patrols in Afghanistan -- you know, take the pressure off my American boys a little?"

"Ah, Barack, mon amis, this I cannot do. Say, let's listen to my wife Carla's new album. It is, how you say, jiggy, no?"

The transition from global celebrity to a politician who actually has to do stuff is going to be very interesting to watch.
