Palin

Michael Palin has made many valuable contributions to the global cultural market place. My personal favorite is the Fish Slapping Dance:

But I also admire how he has reinvented himself in the post-Python era. He's become a travel and culture writer. I just finished and can recommend his latest book "New Europe."

Michael Palin -- that hack.

It's John Cleese who's the REAL genius from the Monty Python troupe.

Oh no my friend. The Fish Slapping Dance required incredible artistic commitment on the part of Palin ... all so Cleese could deliver the lyrical punchline. The mark of a true artiste!

I'll see your Fish Slapping Dance, and raise you one Ministry of Silly Walks.

Palin is a mere prop in that bit -- Cleese is the star, rising to the zenith and exploding in comedic mastery as bright as a thousand suns.

Hey now - straight man, yes. But prop? I think not. And may I remind you of the Lumberjack Song?

Straight man?

More like a central tunnel support on the new Victoria Line.

And no, you may not remind me of the Lumberjack Song. I didn't expect a kind of Spanish Inquisition.
